Once open, the Little Theatre will be
Sanford/Springvale's premier venue for small theatre performances,
concerts, and business/civic meetings.
Because the Little Theatre is physically
connected to the newly-refurbished Nasson Community Center, the necessary
re-structuring of its foundation necessitated its being excavated first
and supported by a process called "cribbing" after which a
cement floor and cinder block foundation were built to eventually house
a Business and Conference Center among other features.
The campaign to renovate the Little
Theatre continues having thus far also brought to
fruition the following projects:
• All of the exterior of the building has been painted;
• The
roof has been redone;
• Sanford Regional Vocational Building Trades students have gutted
the interior of the street floor;
• New windows have been installed throughout the
building;
• Donations have been made towards the purchase of theatre seats
to honor or
memorialize loved ones;
• External doors have been purchased - made possible by the generosity
of contributors;
• Many tradesmen have made in-kind donations; and
• We are grateful to scores of volunteers who sustain the idea
of the project's
going forward.
We invite
you to participate in our appeal by
donating to specific items that will become
integral pieces of our planned facility -
or to our general fund. These may be purchased
in your or your family's name, in recognition of someone,
or to honor the memory of loved ones.
An inscription can express your sentiments.
• Purchase a seat for the now-being-renovated
Little Theatre and have your name
(or the name of someone you want to honor) on one of the theatre seat
plaques
for a donation of $150 for the floor seats or $250 for the chairs with
arms.
• Or consider a wide array of naming opportunities as we continue
raising necessary funds to complete the Little Theatre renovations:
lighting, sound system, curtain, box office accoutrements,
conference center furniture, piano, electrical, heating and ventilation,
sprinkler system, life and safety equipment, etc.
