Alan
Walsh, having served as part-time Director
since the Nasson Community Center opened in May of 2004, was enthusiastically
appointed by the Board of Directors to the position of full-time Executive
Director in April of 2007.
The
Nasson community is indeed fortunate to enjoy the work, talents, and
education of Alan's stature:
Extremely civic-minded, he is a current member/chairman
of the town's Finance Committee.
He serves on the Board of Directors for the Sanford Downtown Legacy
Group. Also for the Sanford/Springvale Chamber of Commerce as its second
vice-president on the Executive Committee.
He is a former member of Sanford's Warrant
Committee and past chair, a former Town Councilor, Town Meeting member,
and sat on the School sub-committee for budgets as well as on the School's
Rehabilitation Committee.
Alan is a native Sanford son and was
educated in the Sanford school system. Subsequently, he enrolled in
selected business courses at the University of Southern Maine.
He is married to wife, Rachana, and
they make their home in Springvale. The couple are parents of St. Lawrence
University freshman, A. J., and Sanford High School student, Krystal.
